Photography Gallery: Adult Health Center Cuts Devastate Elderly, Disabled
The CHCF Center for Health Reporting has partnered with New America Media and nine ethnic news outlets to produce a multi-story, multi-media news package chronicling the effects on ethnic communities of the pending elimination of the state-funded Adult Day Health Care program (ADHC).
The other partnership publications are part of LA Beez, an online collaboration of ethnic media, and include Alhambra Source, Asian Journal, CaribPress, Eastern Group Publications, Impulso, India Journal, Latino California and Media Central.
The ADHC program serves 38,000 frail elderly individuals and adults with disabilities, with 60 percent of its enrollees in Los Angeles County. The package includes 10 article elements, plus photos, a photo gallery and three audio slideshows. It was made available for use by any of the above-listed publications. The project was coordinated by the Center.
